NamingLab Privacy Policy

Effective Date:2026-11-05

The Short Version

The App does not collect, transmit, or analyze any of your data. No accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your browsing, favorites, browsing history and search history stay on your device, and are removed when you delete the App.

Data Storage

Data Name library, character library, curators, collections, license ledger

Where it lives Bundled with the app as read-only resources

Notes No network access and no runtime updates; the in-app “Data sources and licenses” page records each asset's upstream source and license

Data Favorites, browsing history, your profile

Where it lives A local library file inside the app sandbox

Notes Read and written on the device only, never uploaded; deleted with the App

Data Search history and recommendation inputs

Where it lives Local files inside the app sandbox

Notes “Suggestions” are computed on the device by weighting your favorites, follows and history — nothing is uploaded

Data Theme, appearance, app icon and other preferences

Where it lives System preferences

Notes Never leaves the device

Network Requests

The App makes no network requests. This is a hard constraint written into the project's engineering rules, verified by two machine gates: a source-side scan of every Swift file confirms that no networking API is used, and a build-side check of the release binary's symbol table and linked frameworks confirms that no networking capability is linked in. As a result the App never shows the system prompt asking to allow “NamingLab” to use cellular data.

In other words, there is no data channel between the App and the developer: no account system, no sync service, no telemetry, no crash reporting. The developer never sees any of your usage.

Data Collection (App Store Privacy Label)

  • The developer collects no data: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
  • The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or statistics SDK, and depends on no third-party network service.
  • The App Store privacy label should read “Data Not Collected”.

Permissions

The App requests no permissions at all. Specifically:

  • It does not access your photo library: it neither reads nor writes it. When you turn a name into a card image, the App hands the image to the system share sheet; whether it is saved to Photos is your choice, and that step is handled by the Photos app itself — not by the App.
  • It uses no camera, microphone, location, contacts, or Bluetooth access.

Export & Sharing

You can turn names into card images, or share a collection, and send them to other apps through the system share sheet. Exporting is entirely initiated by you, and exported files are written only to the location you specify. The App never uploads share contents to any service on its own.

Purchase & Payment

The App contains no in-app purchases and no subscription: no paywall, no ad slots. Any transaction (if one ever exists) is processed by Apple; the developer does not collect or store any payment information.

Deleting Your Data

  • Deleting the App removes all locally stored data: favorites, browsing history, follows, search history and your profile are written inside the app sandbox and go away with it.
  • The bundled name library ships with the app, so there is nothing for you to clear separately.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any data from children and contains no content targeted at children. Because the App collects no data at all, children raise no additional processing under this policy.
